Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ioan Geangu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 4 minutes into the game, Sebastian Frântu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zilistea FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mercurea the free kick. In the 4th minute, one of Zilistea FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zilistea FC. 8 minutes into the match, Zilistea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iacob Drogoreanu came free, but Niculae Gheorghe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Iacob Mugur came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Mercurea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iacob Mugur couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Zilistea FC's Iurie Cârnu got a free kick in the 20th minute. Iacob Drogoreanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niculae Gheorghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iacob Drogoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ioan Geangu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tudor Mihoc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. When Iacob Mugur came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Mercurea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iacob Mugur couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, Zilistea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petre Simionaş to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Iacob Drogoreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Gheorghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Zilistea FC's Niculae Gheorghe got control of the ball when Iacob Mugur tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mihnea Tatomir charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mihnea Tatomir the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mercurea's Tudor Mihoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ioan Geangu in the 47th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Irinel Zbârciog got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tudor Mihoc quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iacob Drogoreanu was the one to do the kick off. Iacob Mugur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Niculae Gheorghe having to make a save. After 58 played minutes Mercurea got a freekick which was hit by Iurie Bântu. Tudor Mihoc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucian Giugiuc in the 69th minute. Niculae Gheorghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iacob Mugur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mercurea's Iacob Drogoreanu in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zilistea FC's goalie prevented a goal. Tudor Mihoc was a little too slow when Ioan Geangu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 0-1. Costel Ceaușu kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the game, Toader Gruescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mercurea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zilistea FC the free kick. Niculae Gheorghe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iacob Drogoreanu in the 88th minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Iacob Drogoreanu in the 93rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Lucian Giugiuc struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Tudor Mihoc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zilistea FC. If Iacob Mugur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Mercurea supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Zilistea FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Zilistea FC.
