FC UPT's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucrețiu Paraschiv was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Cosmin Mumuleanu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ernesto Unax. That made the score 0-3 in the 73 minute of play. After some careless play in the FC UPT defense, Cornel Ştef kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Unax. The FC UPT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Unax should have stopped the shot. Ernesto Unax made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Daniel Zamfirescu sent off a good shot on target. When Daniel Zamfirescu came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Xandor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zamfirescu couldn't finish the play. Jedrzej Bielecki hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. If Iordache Popescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Xandor eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
