Hagen Patzelt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute Simon Hult shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Vancea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rapid Constanta's attentive Marcu Lucian managed to snatch the ball when Octavian Hârțan made a throw-in in the 28th minute of the game. Hagen Patzelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Șerbulescu in the 29th minute of the match. Valentin Avacariței's late challenge caught a A.C. Milan Iasi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentin Avacariței helped the player get up and apologised.
