Spectators: 6728 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Vintilă Măgherușan in the 3rd minute of play forced Sfintesti AC's goalkeeper Romeo Pătrășcanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute, one of Sfintesti AC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sfintesti AC. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Toplita. Eduard Chificeac stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Romeo Pătrășcanu. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Vintilă Măgherușan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romeo Pătrășcanu was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. He was immediately shown a red card. 33 minutes into the game, one of Sfintesti AC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Toplita a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eduard Chificeac, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sfintesti AC's Romeo Pătrășcanu. 1-5. Vintilă Măgherușan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Toplita were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisc Mazilu was the one to do the kick off. Romeo Pătrășcanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Măgherușan in the 56th minute of play. Emil Rucăreanu hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Sfintesti AC's Romeo Pătrășcanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Sfintesti AC from getting a goal against them. In the 66th minute of the match Răzvan Vrabie shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romeo Pătrășcanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Romeo Pătrășcanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilian Dragoș in the 67th minute. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Toplita's goalkeeper Gigi Stoicănescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vintilă Măgherușan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toplita's Emilian Dragoș got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Emilian Dragoș took a quick shot and it went in 2-7 without a chance for Romeo Pătrășcanu to make any attempt to save it. The Toplita supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Toplita would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
