The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iraitz Mondejar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoş Miclescu in the 3rd minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Sporting Cavnic's goal looked a bit too open when Dragoş Miclescu came free, but Iraitz Mondejar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luptatorii's Luca Codrea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Ciolpan in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Matei Tăutu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luptatorii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Cavnic the free kick. A collision led to Luptatorii getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Matei Tăutu hit a great ball. In the 13th minute of the match Artur Franzik shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luca Codrea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Iraitz Mondejar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumitru Gâfu in the 14th minute of the match. A collision led to Sporting Cavnic getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Avram Maxim hit a great ball. Iraitz Mondejar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Apăvăloaie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting Cavnic's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gică Mangra was slow to take the kick. During this time Luptatorii's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dumitru Gâfu in the 23rd minute of play forced Sporting Cavnic's goalkeeper Iraitz Mondejar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Dumitru Gâfu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sporting Cavnic's Iraitz Mondejar. Iraitz Mondejar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Iraitz Mondejar came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Luptatorii's Gabriel Apăvăloaie. But to his dismay, Gabriel Apăvăloaie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Dumitru Gâfu scored 0-3 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iraitz Mondejar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Sporting Cavnic's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Apăvăloaie came free, but Iraitz Mondejar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luca Codrea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andrei Andreis in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Dragoş Miclescu made a precise shot to the right of Iraitz Mondejar. Sporting Cavnic's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Apăvăloaie in the 44th minute of play forced Sporting Cavnic's goalkeeper Iraitz Mondejar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Andrei Andreis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Luptatorii were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dragoş Miclescu made a kick off. Dragoş Miclescu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 52nd minute. Luptatorii's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gabriel Apăvăloaie's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Iraitz Mondejar firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dumitru Gâfu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Iraitz Mondejar made a huge save. Iraitz Mondejar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Apăvăloaie went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Dumitru Gâfu came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Iraitz Mondejar could save by the left post. In the 67th minute, Dragoş Miclescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iraitz Mondejar. The goal made the score 0-6. Iraitz Mondejar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoş Miclescu in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the Sporting Cavnic defense, Gabriel Apăvăloaie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iraitz Mondejar. The Sporting Cavnic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iraitz Mondejar should have stopped the shot. Emanuel Mitruț kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Dragoş Miclescu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Iraitz Mondejar, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Luptatorii's Gabriel Apăvăloaie got a free kick in the 84th minute. Iraitz Mondejar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Miclescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. With a little luck, Sporting Cavnic's Iraitz Mondejar got control of the ball when Gabriel Apăvăloaie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andrei Andreis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Luca Codrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
