Spectators: 6706 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1706, VIP seats: 0) Ionică Geamănu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute Ionică Geamănu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Braia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iustin Dichiseanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petru Amurăriței in the 9th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ionică Geamănu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bogzeni's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionică Geamănu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leontin Braia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Petru Amurăriței had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th minute, Emanuel Bălan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute Ionică Geamănu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Braia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leontin Braia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionică Geamănu, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Nae Bleoancă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Iustin Dichiseanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petru Amurăriței stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leontin Braia was a little too slow when Ionică Geamănu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Horaţiu Horea's late challenge caught a Bogzeni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horaţiu Horea helped the player get up and apologised. Horaţiu Horea hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Jiul's Horaţiu Horea got a free kick in the 59th minute. With a little luck, Jiul's Leontin Braia got control of the ball when Marcu Pistol tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jiul's Nae Bleoancă got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bogzeni's goalkeeper Iustin Dichiseanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Bogzeni booed when Jiul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Bleoancă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ionică Geamănu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Leontin Braia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nae Bleoancă hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Leontin Braia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ionică Geamănu's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Iustin Dichiseanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petru Amurăriței in the 79th minute of play. With a little luck, Jiul's Leontin Braia got control of the ball when Marcu Pistol tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionică Geamănu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ionică Geamănu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petru Amurăriței struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Iustin Dichiseanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jiul. After 94 played minutes Bogzeni got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Brășneanu. After 97 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bogzeni! Bogzeni:s Iustin Dichiseanu showed great skill when he stopped Valeriu Constantin:s penalty. Jiul's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
