Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bazarghian's Cătălin Miheș started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Gică Săliştean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Nicodim Niculcea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cătălin Miheș in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavel Buș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pavel Buș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cătălin Miheș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pavel Buș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cătălin Miheș, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Valeriu Arotăriței, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Octavian Dridu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Bazarghian getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Ilie Nisipeanu hit a great ball. Valentin Ilarie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gică Săliştean in the 28th minute of play. Valentin Ilarie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gică Săliştean in the 31st minute of the match. Octavian Dridu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Valentin Ilarie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gică Săliştean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Valentin Ilarie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Chiojdeni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Niță to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 37 minutes, Petrică Surdilă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bazarghian's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petrică Surdilă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gică Săliştean's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Ilarie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Cătălin Miheș scored 0-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pavel Buș, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Gică Săliştean made the kick off in the second half. Gică Săliştean's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Ilarie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. If Octavian Dridu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bazarghian's Valentin Ilarie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gică Săliştean in the 63rd minute of play. Gică Săliştean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Ilarie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gică Săliştean's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. If Gică Săliştean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Cătălin Miheș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicodim Niculcea's late challenge caught a Bazarghian's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicodim Niculcea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute, Nicodim Niculcea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Dridu in the 84th minute of play forced Bazarghian's goalkeeper Valentin Ilarie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Chiojdeni's Gică Săliştean in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bazarghian's goalie prevented a goal. After 96 played minutes Chiojdeni got a freekick which was hit by Teodor Micu. In the 98th minute, Petrică Surdilă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bazarghian walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
