George Gheorghe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Ahmet Ömür Oskan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jiul Petrosani's Ahmet Ömür Oskan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Suciu in the 12th minute of play. Adam Turak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Jiul Petrosani's Codruț Martin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Suciu in the 32nd minute of play forced Jiul Petrosani's goalkeeper Ahmet Ömür Oskan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harry Suciu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ahmet Ömür Oskan having to make a save. 46 minutes into the game, Mihnea Mihalcea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C.Marosvasarhely's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jiul Petrosani the free kick. Mihnea Mihalcea hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Harry Suciu to strike the kick off in the second half. George Gheorghe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Ömür Oskan having to interfere. In the 57th minute of the match, George Gheorghe got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ahmet Ömür Oskan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 63rd minute of the match Jiul Petrosani got a corner. F.C.Marosvasarhely's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mihail Opaina ran over to the corner to take the kick. Horea Tender showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codruț Martin in the 76th minute of the match. Horea Tender showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codruț Martin, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When George Gheorghe fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C.Marosvasarhely's protests and gave George Gheorghe a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to F.C.Marosvasarhely getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. George Gheorghe hit a great ball. Horea Tender took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Codruț Martin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmet Ömür Oskan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Harry Suciu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 83 minute of play. In the 90th minute Codruț Martin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horea Tender saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Codruț Martin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
