After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicodim Iliescu to strike the kick off in the second half. AS Minerul Matasari's Adrian Coposu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Chano in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Costel Hidiș left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The STR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. STR fully deserved thier win.
