Spectators: 7455 (Terracing: 5592, Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Armin Nardi started the match with the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in STEAUA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 9th minute. Penalty! Paul Uncuţă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augustin Mateescu's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind STEAUA's goalkeeper Paul Uncuţă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. deCode F.C.'s Nae Atanasiu got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute Atilano Cordario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Uncuţă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. deCode F.C. were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after STEAUA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Valeriu Zbora took the corner. Paul Uncuţă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustin Mateescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Leão came free, but Paul Uncuţă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th play minute Armin Nardi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alex Glodeanu. 1-1. Paul Uncuţă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augustin Mateescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Armin Nardi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the STEAUA defense, Leif Kiempe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paul Uncuţă. The STEAUA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paul Uncuţă should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Leão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paul Uncuţă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augustin Mateescu's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Paul Uncuţă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Cordario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, deCode F.C.'s Augustin Mateescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. 59 minutes into the match, STEAUA's goalkeeper Paul Uncuţă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augustin Mateescu. In the 60th match minute, STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codrin Giubelean to maneuver through the defense. After 61 played minutes deCode F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Cordario. Júlio Leãos short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Paul Uncuţă to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 68 minutes into the game, deCode F.C.'s Nae Atanasiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paul Uncuţă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. With his leg Paul Uncuţă managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when deCode F.C.'s Augustin Mateescu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Atilano Cordario kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Augustin Mateescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cristian Ţintă fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STEAUA's protests and gave Cristian Ţintă a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to STEAUA getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Cristian Ţintă hit a great ball. After 85 minutes, Nae Atanasiu made it 1-6 with a short kick to the right side. STEAUA's Paul Uncuţă tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 89th minute, deCode F.C.'s Augustin Mateescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paul Uncuţă. Paul Uncuţă yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-7. Nae Atanasiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. STEAUA's Paul Uncuţă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Cordario in the 94th minute of play. The supporters of deCode F.C. booed when STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codrin Giubelean didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paul Uncuţă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augustin Mateescu in the 97th minute. deCode F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
