Mugurel Gruescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Mugurel Gruescu came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by deCode F.C.'s Nae Atanasiu. But to his dismay, Nae Atanasiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some careless play in the Spurs defense, Augustin Mateescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mugurel Gruescu. The Spurs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mugurel Gruescu should have stopped the shot. If Leif Kiempe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nae Atanasiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 32 minutes into the match, Augustin Mateescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mugurel Gruescu. Spurs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augustin Mateescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Atilano Cordario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mugurel Gruescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nae Atanasiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 42 played minutes deCode F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Leif Kiempe. After having played for 44 minutes, Júlio Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. deCode F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Júlio Leão made a kick off. Júlio Leão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mugurel Gruescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Augustin Mateescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Atilano Cordario came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the deCode F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atilano Cordario couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute, Eric Drăgoi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Glodeanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 64th minute, Spurs's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Atilano Cordario fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sorin Moisil took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alex Glodeanu. Alex Glodeanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Augustin Mateescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Spurs's zone, Augustin Mateescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mugurel Gruescu came out of the goal and Augustin Mateescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Spurs's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Augustin Mateescu 83 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-5. deCode F.C.'s Augustin Mateescu got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Sorin Moisil notched a goal, 3-5, to the right of deCode F.C.'s Alex Glodeanu. Alex Glodeanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match was over deCode F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Spurs throughout the match.
