An unexpectedly hard shot by Octav Luncaniță in the 7th minute of play forced Atlantis's goalkeeper Victor Arsenescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a left leg Mugur Chivulescu saved fc.brasov from getting behind. 14 minutes into the match, Atlantis's goal looked a bit too open when Nicu Ignătoiu came free, but Victor Arsenescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Arsenescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octav Luncaniță in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th of the match, Eugen Bărbânță tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Mugur Chivulescu got in the way and made a wonderful save. 18 minutes into the game, Atlantis's Iustinian Maghiar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mugur Chivulescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, fc.brasov's Rareș Racoviceanu got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Tiberiu Vornicescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76thth minute of the game Costică Jianu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but fc.brasov's Mugur Chivulescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 77th minute, Tiberiu Vornicescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Atlantis's Costică Jianu got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Iustinian Maghiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, fc.brasov's Tiberiu Vornicescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Atlantis's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
