Spectators: 6694 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 0) Anton Petriceanu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Itau booed when Pui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ştefan Elefteriu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mădălin Macaneață kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Itau's Virgil Mustățea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codruț Ungur in the 12th minute of play. Emanuel Ioniță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Mihai Cozorici tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Francisc Oproiu came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Itau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisc Oproiu couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the match, Itau's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Petriceanu came free, but Virgil Mustățea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Itau's goalkeeper Virgil Mustățea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Narcis Cezariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihai Cozorici having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Pui got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Elefteriu. Emil Petcu scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgil Mustățea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anton Petriceanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anton Petriceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Mustățea having to interfere. In the 47th minute Emil Petcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Mustățea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Pui were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisc Oproiu to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Ştefan Elefteriu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itau the free kick. 58 minutes into the match, Itau's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Petriceanu came free, but Virgil Mustățea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodor Olăroiu during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Itau's zone, Anton Petriceanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgil Mustățea came out of the goal and Anton Petriceanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emil Petcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisc Oproiu in the 87th minute of play forced Pui's goalkeeper Mihai Cozorici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pui's Anton Petriceanu got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, Itau's goalkeeper Virgil Mustățea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emil Petcu. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pui eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
