Leonard Torouţ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Miroiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Iustin Buga charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iustin Buga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, F I O L A was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustin Buga to maneuver through the defense. Teodor Cârneci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Archiudean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, Cazimir Archiudean cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Teodor Cârneci was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gigi Doman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Leonard Torouţ made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gigi Doman got free with Leonard Torouţ in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute FC Bucuresti were awarded a corner. Manole Zăhărescu went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Manole Zăhărescu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but F I O L A's Leonard Torouţ did a great save. In the 43rd minute, Marian Miroiu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leonard Torouţ. The goal made the score 1-1. If Gigi Doman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gigel Honciu to make the kick off. In the 59th minute, Gigi Doman made a precise shot to the right of Leonard Torouţ. F I O L A's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After 64th play minutes Gigi Doman shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Leonard Torouţ and just under the crossbar into goal. The FC Bucuresti fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when FC Bucuresti's Marian Miroiu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Leonard Torouţ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Miroiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marian Miroiu in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonard Torouţ prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Gigi Doman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Marian Miroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Bucuresti's supporters rose to their feet, but Marian Miroiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonard Torouţ breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute Marian Miroiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonard Torouţ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. F I O L A's Leonard Torouţ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Miroiu in the 92nd minute of play. There was no doubt that FC Bucuresti were the better team. FC Bucuresti's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
