Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Eric Simionescu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 5 minutes into the match, Mugurel Udroiu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Steaua's Niculae Balint. Niculae Balint was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Simionescu got free with Liviu Giubelean in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mugurel Udroiu hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Steaua's Eric Simionescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Liviu Giubelean narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ciprian Hurgoi charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciprian Hurgoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eric Simionescu struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Liviu Giubelean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steaua. Iulian Goanță took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niculae Balint. Niculae Balint dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Niculae Balint came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Valala's Mugurel Udroiu. But to his dismay, Mugurel Udroiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudiu Duldurescu during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Claudiu Duldurescu hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Pavel Chibulcutean took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Liviu Giubelean. Valala's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Steaua's attentive Pavel Chibulcutean managed to snatch the ball when Mugur Feroiu made a throw-in in the 54th minute of the game. 55 minutes into the game, Eric Simionescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Liviu Giubelean was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 57th minute, Ovidiu Coșereanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liviu Giubelean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciprian Hurgoi in the 58th minute of the match. Niculae Balint showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugurel Udroiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. When Eric Simionescu came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Steaua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eric Simionescu couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the match, Valala's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Simionescu came free, but Liviu Giubelean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Steaua booed when Valala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Duldurescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liviu Giubelean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Simionescu's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. During the 87th minute of the match Ciprian Hurgoi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ciprian Hurgoi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Mugurel Udroiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Niculae Balint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niculae Balint made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugurel Udroiu in the 91st minute of play. Dinu Hirean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Valala eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
