It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Horaţiu Bucataru when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Zidul CSS's goal looked a bit too open when Mihnea Pipirig came free, but Horaţiu Bucataru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 played minutes Zidul CSS got a freekick which was hit by Marius Torouţ. Cătălin Cioiu might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horaţiu Bucataru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cătălin Cioiu ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Negreanu was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cătălin Cioiu got free with Horaţiu Bucataru in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandu Dordea in the 81st minute of play forced Macoviste AFC's goalkeeper Silviu Cazan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nechifor Ducu's late challenge caught a Zidul CSS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nechifor Ducu helped the player get up and apologised. Nechifor Ducu kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Ionuț Siclovan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
