Spectators: 7351 (Terracing: 5514, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 147) Plopi AC's Grigore Abrudan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Plopi AC's Leonard Turcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Henrich in the 2nd minute of play. In the 3rd minute, Damian Prunaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Plopi AC were furious when George Codrescu was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When Fabian Tastaman came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Fc.Steaua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Tastaman couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornel Vladimirescu in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonard Turcan saved Plopi AC from getting behind. Jorge Henrich recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, Eric Istrătescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Henrich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard Turcan having to interfere. The supporters of Fc.Steaua booed when Plopi AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Istrătescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Romas Abadauskas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonard Turcan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jorge Henrich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Cornel Vladimirescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonard Turcan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Nae Dumitrachescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jorge Henrich's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonard Turcan was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. 47 minutes into the match, Plopi AC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Henrich came free, but Leonard Turcan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Fc.Steaua were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jorge Henrich made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Cornel Vladimirescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc.Steaua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornel Vladimirescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cornel Vladimirescu got free with Leonard Turcan in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorge Henrich might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonard Turcan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Henrich ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 59th minute, Fc.Steaua's Jorge Henrich dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Leonard Turcan made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Jorge Henrich sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nae Dumitrachescu in the 67th minute of play forced Fc.Steaua's goalkeeper Ciprian Tătăruşanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Prunaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Prunaru in the 74th minute of play forced Plopi AC's goalkeeper Leonard Turcan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Turcan made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Cornel Vladimirescu sent off a good shot on target. After 82 minutes of play, Plopi AC's Nae Dumitrachescu made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ciprian Tătăruşanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Damian Prunaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc.Steaua's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Prunaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonard Turcan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 92 played minutes Plopi AC got a freekick which was hit by Eric Istrătescu. With his leg Leonard Turcan managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Fc.Steaua's Jorge Henrich fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ciprian Tătăruşanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Istrătescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
