Albert Mircescu kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Cichirdicu's goalkeeper Nechifor Ferenț had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgil Grozăvescu. If Virgil Grozăvescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dragoş Tolea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Costel Voicescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cichirdicu's zone, Virgil Grozăvescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nechifor Ferenț came out of the goal and Virgil Grozăvescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cornel Omescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Ferenț having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Virgil Grozăvescu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Laurențiu Răchită had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 27 minutes into the match, Cichirdicu's goalkeeper Nechifor Ferenț had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgil Grozăvescu. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucrețiu Macarie in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Costel Voicescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 34 minutes into the match, Laurențiu Răchită notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Cichirdicu's Nechifor Ferenț. Nechifor Ferenț was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Virgil Grozăvescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurențiu Răchită received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Nechifor Ferenț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laurențiu Răchită to make the kick off. After 56 played minutes Cichirdicu got a freekick which was hit by Dragoş Tolea. Dragoş Rednic's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Nechifor Ferenț - 2-0 was put on the score board in the 57th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Virgil Grozăvescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Batesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgil Grozăvescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Virgil Grozăvescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cichirdicu's zone, Virgil Grozăvescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nechifor Ferenț came out of the goal and Virgil Grozăvescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cichirdicu's Nechifor Ferenț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurențiu Răchită in the 70th minute of play. Laurențiu Răchită took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nechifor Ferenț. Nechifor Ferenț dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 79th minute Virgil Grozăvescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Ferenț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Laurențiu Răchită managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurențiu Răchită was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nechifor Ferenț breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Virgil Grozăvescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Ferenț having to interfere. Gică Mihălțan kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cichirdicu's zone, Virgil Grozăvescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nechifor Ferenț came out of the goal and Virgil Grozăvescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94thth minute of the game Laurențiu Răchită who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cichirdicu's Nechifor Ferenț was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee ended the match the Batesti players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
