In the 15th minute Florin Maxim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Apostolescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 19 minutes on the clock, Ştefan Simuţ commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. F.C Rapid Bucuresti:s Eugen Apostolescu showed great skill when he stopped Emanuel Cupșa:s penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Amatorii's zone, Gigi Răţescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Dănănae came out of the goal and Gigi Răţescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, Amatorii's goalkeeper Victor Dănănae had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gigi Răţescu. Dacian Pancu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emilian Costache during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emanuel Cupșa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Cupșa in the 38th minute of play forced F.C Rapid Bucuresti's goalkeeper Eugen Apostolescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Cupșa made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Florin Maxim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugen Apostolescu was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Eugen Apostolescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save F.C Rapid Bucuresti from getting a goal against them. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Eugen Apostolescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florin Maxim in the 78th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Amatorii players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
