The supporters of F.C Adevarul Holding booed when FCU Stiinta Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Agud didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandru Slătineanu lost his temper 17 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 33rd minute Nistor Niculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Șerban Ciuvică saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avram Aluchei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Ciuvică having to interfere. FCU Stiinta Craiova's Cristinel Lucescu got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nistor Niculescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Nistor Niculescu made the kick off in the second half. Dumitru Istrătescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Șerban Ciuvică made a huge save. The supporters of FCU Stiinta Craiova booed when F.C Adevarul Holding was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. F.C Adevarul Holding's Șerban Ciuvică proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save F.C Adevarul Holding from getting a goal against them. Dumitru Istrătescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nistor Niculescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute, Armando Herauso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Armando Herauso notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of FCU Stiinta Craiova's Costin Argăseală. Costin Argăseală was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Șerban Ciuvică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nistor Niculescu in the 79th minute of play. Cristinel Lucescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Șerban Ciuvică tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. F.C Adevarul Holding's Jaak Paukson was substituted for Armando Herauso. 86 minutes into the match, F.C Adevarul Holding's goalkeeper Șerban Ciuvică had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dumitru Istrătescu. When Cristinel Lucescu came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the FCU Stiinta Craiova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristinel Lucescu couldn't finish the play. F.C Adevarul Holding made a substitution. Moise Filimon replaced Marcu Săliştean. Ionică Dudea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Șerban Ciuvică read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The F.C Adevarul Holding fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FCU Stiinta Craiova were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
