Irinel Goicea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ioan Ursu's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. If Ioan Ursu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horia Stamatiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irinel Goicea having to interfere. Ioan Ursu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 minutes, Sandu Covrig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lucky Star United and the Scorpions-MM- players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Scorpions-MM- fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Scorpions-MM-'s Ioan Ursu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 20th minute, Nicolae Nandriș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Scorpions-MM-:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lucky Star United:s goal. Ionică Zâncă made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Tiberiu Peter sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute, Ioan Ursu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emanuel Greculescu kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, Scorpions-MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Agudin to maneuver through the defense. Ionică Zâncă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Uduleanu in the 38th minute of play. Irinel Goicea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ioan Ursu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lucky Star United's goalkeeper Irinel Goicea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 43 played minutes, Scorpions-MM-'s Nicolae Nandriș shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Irinel Goicea came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Scorpions-MM- reached it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Irinel Uduleanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ioan Ursu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Irinel Goicea having to make a save. Scorpions-MM-'s Ioan Ursu got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Irinel Goicea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Valentin Nicolcioiu came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Scorpions-MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Nicolcioiu couldn't finish the play. When Emanuel Greculescu fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lucky Star United's protests and gave Emanuel Greculescu a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Scorpions-MM- got a freekick which was hit by Narcis Ciulei. Valentin Nicolcioiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Irinel Goicea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horia Stamatiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irinel Goicea having to interfere. Ioan Ursu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lucky Star United's zone, Ioan Ursu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Goicea came out of the goal and Ioan Ursu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Lucky Star United's Tiberiu Peter got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The audience was convinced that Ioan Ursu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Irinel Goicea was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lucky Star United's goalkeeper Irinel Goicea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Scorpions-MM-'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
