A beautiful save bye Samy AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 6 minutes into the match, Marin Mereuță had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horia Chițu. Samy AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marin Mereuță was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ştefan Doroftei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zakariás Soós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ştefan Doroftei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zakariás Soós went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Alungeni's Toader Luțu got a free kick in the 18th minute. Ştefan Doroftei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zakariás Soós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Kåre Wik managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samy AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kåre Wik was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ştefan Doroftei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Samy AFC's Zakariás Soós ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ştefan Doroftei. Ştefan Doroftei yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Horia Chițu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gelu Jucu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ştefan Doroftei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zakariás Soós's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The supporters of Samy AFC booed when Alungeni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Jucu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ştefan Doroftei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zakariás Soós, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Toader Luțu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horia Chițu having to interfere. Horia Chițu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marin Mereuță in the 40th minute of the match. After 44 played minutes Samy AFC got a freekick which was hit by Narcis Zmărăndescu. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zakariás Soós in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ştefan Doroftei saved Alungeni from getting behind. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zakariás Soós made a kick off. In the 57th play minute Toader Luțu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Horia Chițu. 2-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zakariás Soós in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ştefan Doroftei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kåre Wik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Doroftei having to interfere. Zakariás Soós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ştefan Doroftei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Irinel Isaia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Alungeni getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Gelu Jucu hit a great ball. If Toader Luțu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toader Luțu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87thth minute of the game Zakariás Soós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alungeni's Ştefan Doroftei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kåre Wik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ştefan Doroftei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Toader Luțu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marin Mereuță's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horia Chițu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
