In the 22nd minute of the match CFR Pascani got a corner. Papiesti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iustinian Zăgănescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Nicodim Drilea almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Papiesti's Irinel Comăneci did a great save. Iustin Brad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, CFR Pascani's Nicodim Zburlea got control of the ball when Iustin Brad tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Papiesti booed when CFR Pascani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toader Costin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Papiesti's goalkeeper Irinel Comăneci, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nae Orghidan hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, CFR Pascani's goalkeeper Nicodim Zburlea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iustin Brad. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 57 played minutes CFR Pascani got a freekick which was hit by Octavian Mischie. In the 59th minute, Mihnea Agulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, CFR Pascani's Manole Voican sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Irinel Comăneci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Octavian Mischie had several of the Papiesti's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 64 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Irinel Comăneci as he didn't even see the shot coming. Octavian Mischie did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Irinel Comăneci 70 minutes into the match. Octavian Mischie made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 73rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Irinel Comăneci would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Ernest Ipate hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Papiesti's zone, Manole Voican stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Comăneci came out of the goal and Manole Voican tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Manole Voican had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The long shot by Iustinian Zăgănescu in the 91st minute really tested Irinel Comăneci's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CFR Pascani walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
