With an all-out effort, Jeselnica CSS's Zdzislaw Pysz threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martin Gordunescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zdzislaw Pysz made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Nicodim Staicu sent off a good shot on target. Jeselnica CSS's Dan Bute couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 31st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Petrolul Ploiesti. Nicodim Staicu in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zdzislaw Pysz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sven-Olof Isaksson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maxim Grămescu during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Petrolul Ploiesti getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Ernest Fulga hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Dan Bute sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zdzislaw Pysz skillfully saved the ball. Martin Gordunescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Zdzislaw Pysz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 60th match minute, Jeselnica CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Enciulescu to maneuver through the defense. Jeselnica CSS's Mihai Cocârlă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Olof Isaksson in the 77th minute of play. Zdzislaw Pysz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicodim Staicu went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Dumitru Malcocea struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Zdzislaw Pysz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jeselnica CSS. Zdzislaw Pysz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicodim Staicu in the 88th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Nicodim Staicu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Zdzislaw Pysz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Jeselnica CSS had won after a very even match.
