Cristi Vădan's late challenge caught a Fumureni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristi Vădan helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Frunzeasca CSS got a freekick which was hit by Cristi Vădan. In the 8th minute of the match Nicolae Aldescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Petrică Bocșa skillfully saved the ball. If Vasile Logofătu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petrică Bocșa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasile Logofătu, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The supporters of Fumureni booed when Frunzeasca CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valer Cismaș didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petrică Bocșa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Negruț, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 18 played minutes Frunzeasca CSS got a freekick which was hit by Valer Cismaș. Petrică Bocșa came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Fumureni's Vasile Logofătu. But to his dismay, Vasile Logofătu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Irinel Şumălan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorin Crivoi having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Frunzeasca CSS's Irinel Şumălan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dorin Crivoi. That made the score 1-2 after 34 minutes of play. The Fumureni fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Fumureni's Vasile Logofătu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 44thth minute of the game Vasile Logofătu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Frunzeasca CSS's Petrică Bocșa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vasile Logofătu struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Petrică Bocșa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fumureni. After the first half Fumureni were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iurie Negruț to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Vasile Logofătu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fumureni's supporters rose to their feet, but Vasile Logofătu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petrică Bocșa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vasile Logofătu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petrică Bocșa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irinel Şumălan in the 63rd minute of play forced Fumureni's goalkeeper Dorin Crivoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Negruț recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iurie Negruț in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petrică Bocșa saved Frunzeasca CSS from getting behind. A collision led to Fumureni getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Nicolae Aldescu hit a great ball. In the 70th minute of the match Ionuț Daria sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dorin Crivoi skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Frunzeasca CSS's zone, Vasile Logofătu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petrică Bocșa came out of the goal and Vasile Logofătu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Frunzeasca CSS's Sandu Potoroacă got a free kick in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Frunzeasca CSS's Ionuț Daria got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute of the match Vlad Cocârlă sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Petrică Bocșa skillfully saved the ball. After 82 minutes, Martin Vasiliu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fumureni and the Frunzeasca CSS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Fumureni getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Martin Vasiliu hit a great ball. Vasile Logofătu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Petrică Bocșa made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Iurie Negruț's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petrică Bocșa was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. If Mihai Enciulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Vasile Logofătu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the final whistle sounded Fumureni left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Frunzeasca CSS.
