After 30 played minutes Puini got a freekick which was hit by Olimpiu Latarețu. If Dorin Brânzaș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisc Şoltuz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Opriș having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Puini was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Jucu to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Dorin Brânzaș managed to get in a good position for a shot. DUNAREA GALATI's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorin Brânzaș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gelu Opriș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 47 minutes, Manuel Bordeianu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puini's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Bordeianu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Bordeianu was the one to do the kick off. Dorin Brânzaș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Bordeianu in the 91st minute of play forced DUNAREA GALATI's goalkeeper Sergiu Fulga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in DUNAREA GALATI's zone, Alex Melinte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergiu Fulga came out of the goal and Alex Melinte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gelu Opriș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisc Şoltuz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Puini's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
