After having played for 24 minutes, Vasile Zaharia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U Craiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vasile Zaharia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The U Craiova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iustinian Pătru should have stopped the shot. After the first half U Craiova were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristinel Curuțiu was the one to do the kick off. U Craiova's Cristinel Curuțiu got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Arghirescu AS's zone, Traian Volosin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iustinian Purcărete came out of the goal and Traian Volosin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Codrin Coșmeanu succeeded in the game's 56th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Arghirescu AS! Martin Videanu shot the penalty kick right outside the post. A collision led to U Craiova getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. İsa Ataoğlu hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristinel Curuțiu got free with Iustinian Purcărete in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iustinian Pătru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codrin Coșmeanu in the 75th minute of play. Iustinian Pătru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Curcă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of U Craiova booed when Arghirescu AS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iosif Cicortaș didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Arghirescu AS's goal looked a bit too open when Cristinel Curuțiu came free, but Iustinian Purcărete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iustinian Purcărete made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristinel Curuțiu in the 94th minute. If Cristinel Curuțiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U Craiova were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
