In the 13th match minute, Lelesti CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iulian Dumitrescu to maneuver through the defense. After 15 played minutes Lelesti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Crețu. Sabin Toacsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niculae Gherdan in the 20th minute of the match. When Niculae Gherdan came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Varzari SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niculae Gherdan couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varzari SC's goalkeeper Lucian Blajovici, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iulian Dumitrescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucian Blajovici having to interfere. When Vlad Șipoș came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Varzari SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vlad Șipoș couldn't finish the play. Emanuel Brânzaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucian Blajovici having to interfere. Iulian Dumitrescu took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucian Blajovici. Lucian Blajovici dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Petrică Vâlcu's late challenge caught a Lelesti CSS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petrică Vâlcu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Petrică Vâlcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Varzari SC's zone, Iulian Dumitrescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucian Blajovici came out of the goal and Iulian Dumitrescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vlad Șipoș to make the kick off. Niculae Gherdan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Sabin Toacsen made a huge save. Vlad Șipoș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st match minute, Varzari SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niculae Gherdan to maneuver through the defense. Lelesti CSS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Vlad Șipoș scored to the left of an out of position Sabin Toacsen, making the score, 1-1. Niculae Gherdan came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sabin Toacsen could save by the left post. Lucian Blajovici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Brânzaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niculae Gherdan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 minutes, Gheorghe Minulescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varzari SC and the Lelesti CSS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 84th match minute, Varzari SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gheorghe Minulescu to maneuver through the defense. When Horea Ţurlău fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lelesti CSS's protests and gave Horea Ţurlău a yellow card for diving instead. After 86 played minutes Lelesti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Horea Ţurlău.
