The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cafu Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vasile Butuc went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. F.C.Transylvania's Alex Bocu got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Stelian Tobă managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when F.C.Transylvania's Alex Bocu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. F.C.Transylvania's Claudiu Gaciu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Olimpiu Caciulescu in the 15 minute of the game. Alex Bocu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Stelian Tobă when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 17thth minute of the game Alex Bocu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lovetebanya's Stelian Tobă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Gigi Maiorescu took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Stelian Tobă to make any attempt to save it. In the 27th minute, Hugon Raschke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Bocus short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Stelian Tobă to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Lovetebanya booed when F.C.Transylvania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Bocu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lovetebanya's Stelian Tobă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Bocu in the 34th minute of play. F.C.Transylvania's Mugurel Agârbiceanu got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mugurel Agârbiceanu came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the F.C.Transylvania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mugurel Agârbiceanu couldn't finish the play. Alex Bocu struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Stelian Tobă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C.Transylvania.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vasile Butuc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Lovetebanya's zone, Mugurel Agârbiceanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stelian Tobă came out of the goal and Mugurel Agârbiceanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Lovetebanya defense, Alex Bocu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stelian Tobă. The Lovetebanya fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stelian Tobă should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Alex Bocu sped through Lovetebanya's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stelian Tobă. Alex Bocu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stelian Tobă read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lovetebanya's zone, Mugurel Agârbiceanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stelian Tobă came out of the goal and Mugurel Agârbiceanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Kaj Odeen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C.Transylvania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaj Odeen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 minutes, Kaj Odeen made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Lovetebanya's Stelian Tobă tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Lovetebanya's goal looked a bit too open when Kaj Odeen came free, but Stelian Tobă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kaj Odeen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute, Kaj Odeen made a precise shot to the right of Stelian Tobă. Lovetebanya's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. There was no doubt that F.C.Transylvania were the better team. F.C.Transylvania's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
