Eugen Costache charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eugen Costache the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edgar Mercescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, TSC Valeni's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Costache came free, but Jacob Zacharas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to TSC Valeni getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Dinu Almăgean hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Eugen Costache left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jiul&CO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Emanuel Vâtcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob Zacharas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Mercescu in the 38th minute of play. Gigel Mironescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacob Zacharas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gigel Mironescu ran back to his position shaking his head. When Mircea Poenaru came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the TSC Valeni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mircea Poenaru couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Mai Yao Yi managed to get in a good position for a shot. TSC Valeni's supporters rose to their feet, but Mai Yao Yi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harmen Bosman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Mircea Poenaru fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TSC Valeni's protests and gave Mircea Poenaru a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th minute, Mircea Poenaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harmen Bosman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. TSC Valeni's Jacob Zacharas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugen Costache in the 67th minute of play. After 73 played minutes, Jiul&CO's Mircea Nenciu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jacob Zacharas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jiul&CO reached it. 75 minutes into the match, Jiul&CO's goal looked a bit too open when Mircea Poenaru came free, but Harmen Bosman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute of the match, Eugen Costache tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jacob Zacharas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
