After 15 played minutes Zarneni got a freekick which was hit by Doru Nicea. If Eugen Chimeț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 minutes of play, Zarneni's Roch Wallach made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gigi Capătă was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihail Codreanu in the 30th minute of play forced Chichirau's goalkeeper Gigi Capătă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Mihail Codreanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gigi Capătă was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Mihail Codreanu sped through Chichirau's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gigi Capătă. After a rather tough play, Zarneni's Doru Nicea got a free kick in the 36th minute. Octavian Gherase charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Octavian Gherase the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chichirau's Gigi Capătă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihail Codreanu in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mihail Codreanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Iurie Lucrețiu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chichirau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zarneni the free kick. Zarneni's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 54th minute of the game, when Doru Nicea after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Chichirau's goal. Doru Nicea was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihail Codreanu in the 56th minute of play forced Chichirau's goalkeeper Gigi Capătă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roch Wallach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigi Capătă read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. The Zarneni fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Zarneni's Mihail Codreanu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Augustin Geangu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Bobe in the 68th minute of play. If Mihail Codreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the game, John Sundström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zarneni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chichirau the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Zarneni fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Zarneni:s Augustin Geangu showed great skill when he stopped Filip Chinezu:s penalty. If Ionuț Porumbescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Roch Wallach took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Gigi Capătă to make any attempt to save it. If Octavian Gherase had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zarneni's Roch Wallach got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roch Wallach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Chichirau's zone, Roch Wallach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigi Capătă came out of the goal and Roch Wallach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 99th minute by Roch Wallach got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Zarneni's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
