After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Slatina's zone, Edgar Cumpanașu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vintilă Rogozanu came out of the goal and Edgar Cumpanașu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 7 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Slatina's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Cumpanașu came free, but Vintilă Rogozanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Cumpanașu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vintilă Rogozanu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Slatina's Niculae Zeciu got a free kick in the 10th minute. Edgar Cumpanașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Vintilă Rogozanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute Manuel Olariu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maciej Bielecki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 played minutes MONDIAL BUCURESTI got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Covaliu. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Slatina's Ştefan Mascovescu got a free kick in the 18th minute. Vintilă Rogozanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Cumpanașu in the 20th minute of the match. Maciej Bielecki stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Olariu's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Vintilă Rogozanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costel Porumbescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Niculae Zeciu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 35 minutes had been played. After 36 played minutes FC Steaua Slatina got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Zeciu. Laurențiu Costache struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Maciej Bielecki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Steaua Slatina. In the 40th minute Costel Porumbescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Rogozanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costel Porumbescu in the 42nd minute of play forced FC Steaua Slatina's goalkeeper Vintilă Rogozanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laurențiu Costache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Maciej Bielecki made a huge save. Vintilă Rogozanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Cumpanașu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vintilă Rogozanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costel Porumbescu in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half MONDIAL BUCURESTI were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Edgar Cumpanașu made the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of MONDIAL BUCURESTI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Steaua Slatina:s goal. Maciej Bielecki went to the wrong direction when Alex Agudaru was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Laurențiu Costache might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maciej Bielecki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laurențiu Costache ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Costache in the 58th minute of play forced MONDIAL BUCURESTI's goalkeeper Maciej Bielecki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basarab Tatomir's late challenge caught a MONDIAL BUCURESTI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Costel Porumbescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Vintilă Rogozanu made a huge save. If Laurențiu Costache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute of the match, Edgar Cumpanașu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vintilă Rogozanu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 82 played minutes FC Steaua Slatina got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Olariu. In the 85thth minute of the game Edgar Cumpanașu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Steaua Slatina's Vintilă Rogozanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as MONDIAL BUCURESTI's Edgar Cumpanașu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vintilă Rogozanu. That made the score 0-2 after 88 minutes of play. 98 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Slatina's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Cumpanașu came free, but Vintilă Rogozanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The MONDIAL BUCURESTI supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MONDIAL BUCURESTI would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
