Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) FC DMN's Liviu Itoafă started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match, Gică Dordea got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ioan Prelipceanu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gică Dordea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ioan Filipoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vali Mănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viorel Nicodim, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, FC DMN's goalkeeper Ioan Prelipceanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gică Dordea. After 14 minutes, Viorel Nicodim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC DMN and the Valioara players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ioan Prelipceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Ioviță in the 16th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Viorel Nicodim managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC DMN's supporters rose to their feet, but Viorel Nicodim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vali Mănescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Liviu Itoafă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valioara's Vali Mănescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ioan Filipoiu in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Valioara getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Ivan Enciulescu hit a great ball. In the 28th minute Ioan Filipoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vali Mănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vali Mănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liviu Itoafă in the 30th minute of play. FC DMN's Ioan Prelipceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Ioviță in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Valioara's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Itoafă came free, but Vali Mănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vali Mănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicu Voitiş, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Valioara's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Filipoiu came free, but Vali Mănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ioan Prelipceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Ioviță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcel Ioviță to make the kick off. FC DMN's Liviu Itoafă got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivan Enciulescu hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Vali Mănescu came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by FC DMN's Ioan Filipoiu. But to his dismay, Ioan Filipoiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dacian Bosioc charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dacian Bosioc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Valioara! The goalkeeper, Vali Mănescu, was totally fooled by FC DMN's Cristian Noica, who 64 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. FC DMN's Ioan Prelipceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Ioviță in the 67th minute of play. After 67 played minutes FC DMN got a freekick which was hit by Viorel Nicodim. Viorel Nicodim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vali Mănescu having to interfere. Liviu Itoafă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute Marcel Ioviță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ioan Prelipceanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Ioan Filipoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC DMN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ioan Filipoiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 98 minutes into the game, Viorel Nicodim recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vali Mănescu. Viorel Nicodim showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. When the final whistle sounded FC DMN left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Valioara.
