Thanks to some nice moves Aurelian Bobei could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Vali Boroș however easily saved by the left post. Vali Boroș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raoul Zahno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simeon Duke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Panait Pintilescu's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Panait Pintilescu sped through Focus FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Simeon Duke. 23 minutes into the game, Raoul Zahno recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vali Boroș. Raoul Zahno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Simeon Duke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panait Pintilescu in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Focus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Panait Pintilescu came free, but Simeon Duke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Panait Pintilescu in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simeon Duke saved Focus FC from getting behind. Bogdan Cutieru hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panait Pintilescu in the 37th minute of play forced Focus FC's goalkeeper Simeon Duke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Raoul Zahno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vali Boroș was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. In the 42nd minute, Panait Pintilescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simeon Duke was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 46th minute Panait Pintilescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simeon Duke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Focus FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sibot were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raoul Zahno was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Aurelian Bobei made a precise shot to the right of Vali Boroș. Sibot's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 55th minute, Panait Pintilescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Simeon Duke. The goal made the score 2-3. Simeon Duke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calistrat Baldu in the 60th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sibot defense, Raoul Zahno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vali Boroș. The Sibot fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vali Boroș should have stopped the shot. When Remus Ungureanu fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Focus FC's protests and gave Remus Ungureanu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute, one of Focus FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Focus FC. The referee gave Sibot a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gheorghe Oanță, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Focus FC's Simeon Duke. 4-4. Aurelian Bobei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Mădălin Ţiriac fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Focus FC's protests and gave Mădălin Ţiriac a yellow card for diving instead. Vali Boroș didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raoul Zahno went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-4 was the resulting score. Focus FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
