An unexpectedly hard shot by Leontin Ciolacu in the 6th minute of play forced FC REAL UNIREA's goalkeeper Horaţiu Păunescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, FC REAL UNIREA's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Brumaru came free, but Horaţiu Păunescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcel Pelin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Durbac in the 10th minute of the match. Cuza-Voda booed when FC REAL UNIREA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Urderean didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes FC REAL UNIREA got a freekick which was hit by Mugur Cozaru. In the 23rd minute Ferdinand Colin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Păunescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, FC REAL UNIREA's Octav Eftimescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Marcel Pelin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Durbac in the 30th minute of play. Horaţiu Păunescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugen Brumaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 37th match minute, F.C. Cuza-Voda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustin Copil to maneuver through the defense. If Petrică Nițescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Constantin Urderean was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 87 minutes into the match. F.C. Cuza-Voda's Tiberiu Geambașu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sebastian Leluțiu, made in the 93rd minute of the game. Octav Eftimescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Pelin having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Teodor Caloian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horaţiu Păunescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugen Brumaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute.
