With his leg Alonzo Eli managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Stiinta Craiova's Robert Drăgan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Doru Curăreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Sabin Luțu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alonzo Eli made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Robert Drăgan sent off a good shot on target. Alonzo Eli was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Marin Tatulici. Robert Drăgan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Alonzo Eli made a huge save. Sabin Luțu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remus Leluțiu in the 15th minute of the match. Alexandru Apostu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Robert Drăgan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stiinta Craiova's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Drăgan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alonzo Eli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cornel Orășan came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Stiinta Craiova fans jumped to their feet. If Cornel Orășan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornel Orășan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Alonzo Eli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alonzo Eli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornel Orășan, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Alonzo Eli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Orășan in the 41st minute of the match. Cornel Orășan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remus Leluțiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sabin Luțu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

SCM VASLUI's Iustin Dascălu was substituted for Remus Leluțiu. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cornel Orășan to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornel Orășan in the 53rd minute of play forced SCM VASLUI's goalkeeper Alonzo Eli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Alfred Lindman notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Stiinta Craiova's Sabin Luțu. Sabin Luțu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 92 played minutes SCM VASLUI got a freekick which was hit by Doru Curăreanu. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SCM VASLUI had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
