Pelicanul Negru's Freddie Bodin got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, FC Otelu Galari's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Bodin came free, but Avram Ghiorman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Avram Ghiorman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Orlin in the 18th minute of the match. Freddie Bodin struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Avram Ghiorman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pelicanul Negru. Daniel Nandriș was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nichifor Mendrea showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Pelicanul Negru's Freddie Bodin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Avram Ghiorman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 32nd match minute, FC Otelu Galari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gigel Ciuvică to maneuver through the defense. Avram Ghiorman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddie Bodin, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Pelicanul Negru getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Toader Poenaru hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Gigel Ciuvică ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniel Nandriș was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The supporters of Pelicanul Negru booed when FC Otelu Galari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Arghir didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute Freddie Bodin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avram Ghiorman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddie Bodin was the one to do the kick off. Pelicanul Negru's Toader Poenaru got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Gigel Ciuvică got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gigel Ciuvică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Nandriș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichifor Mendrea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freddie Bodin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Toader Poenaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 minutes, Iordache Homescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pelicanul Negru and the FC Otelu Galari players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pelicanul Negru's Daniel Nandriș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stelian Culcer in the 89th minute of play.
