But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinand Tolea couldn't finish the play. If Ferdinand Tolea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gigi Ciolacu during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of bArLaD CyTy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Steaua Bucuresti:s goal. In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for Steaua Bucuresti. Narcis Lipan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Stelian Bodea. 0-3. Ferdinand Tolea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stelian Bodea having to interfere. bArLaD CyTy's Stelian Bodea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Șipoș in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Eftimescu was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Aron Șipoș managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua Bucuresti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aron Șipoș was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The tension between the Steaua Bucuresti and the bArLaD CyTy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tudor Tase hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Andrei Todericiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Eftimescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of bArLaD CyTy booed when Steaua Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Chirea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The bArLaD CyTy fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Steaua Bucuresti were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
