Gelmar's Albert Prezan got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Stănculescu in the 8th minute of play forced Tuguiatui CSM's goalkeeper Isac Chifan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isac Chifan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albert Prezan's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Iosif Trifan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tiberiu Iovulescu. The goal made the score 1-0. Albert Prezan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Isac Chifan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Albert Prezan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isac Chifan was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. If Iosif Trifan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vali Staicu hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Gelmar's supporters rose to their feet, but Albert Prezan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isac Chifan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes into the game, Albert Prezan lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Isac Chifan. Daniel Stănculescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Isac Chifan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, Gelmar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doru Cutieru to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Gelmar getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Călin Braica hit a great ball. Isac Chifan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Prezan, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Daniel Stănculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Stănculescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isac Chifan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Gelmar could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tuguiatui CSM throughout the match.
