Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ilteu CSM's Mihăiţă Caramarin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 6 minutes, Mihăiţă Caramarin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ilteu CSM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihăiţă Caramarin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Ilteu CSM's Mihăiţă Caramarin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiberiu Iovulescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Mihăiţă Caramarin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albert Prezan struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Nicolae Moți didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gelmar. Daniel Stănculescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolae Moți having to interfere. After 22 played minutes Ilteu CSM got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Isaia. Daniel Stănculescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Nicolae Moți tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Ilteu CSM's Mihăiţă Caramarin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiberiu Iovulescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Codrin Rușanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albert Prezan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute of the match Isac Dersidan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiberiu Iovulescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albert Prezan was the one to do the kick off. Mircea Lucaci's late challenge caught a Gelmar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mircea Lucaci helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, Ilteu CSM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Lucaci to maneuver through the defense. Gelmar's Costică Constantinescu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ilteu CSM. Mugurel Roman's late challenge caught a Ilteu CSM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mugurel Roman helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ilteu CSM booed when Gelmar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugurel Roman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mihăiţă Caramarin took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiberiu Iovulescu. Tiberiu Iovulescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Mihăiţă Caramarin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Tiberiu Iovulescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ilteu CSM's Mihăiţă Caramarin was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 69th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Cristian Ivăncioiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Tiberiu Iovulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihăiţă Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiberiu Iovulescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Mihăiţă Caramarin struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Tiberiu Iovulescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ilteu CSM. After a defensive mix-up in Ilteu CSM's zone, Albert Prezan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolae Moți came out of the goal and Albert Prezan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Gelmar's Ovidiu Dănilă got a free kick in the 91st minute. Mihăiţă Caramarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Tiberiu Iovulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ilteu CSM eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
