Costin Vădan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to papasoglu getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Mădălin Banica hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, papasoglu's Fabian Ciurea got a free kick in the 11th minute. Iacob Dominte might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vintilă Dascălu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iacob Dominte ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iulian Chirtoacă in the 17th minute of play forced papasoglu's goalkeeper Cazimir Atanasiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihăiţă Uncuţă's late challenge caught a papasoglu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihăiţă Uncuţă helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti got a freekick which was hit by Mihăiţă Uncuţă. Iacob Dominte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vintilă Dascălu having to interfere. If Iacob Dominte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Costin Vădan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cazimir Atanasiu. papasoglu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Costin Vădan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Costin Vădan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iulian Chirtoacă struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Cazimir Atanasiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Vintilă Dascălu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iacob Dominte, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Rareș Petrin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mădălin Banica during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, papasoglu's Mădălin Banica got a free kick in the 60th minute. 64 minutes into the match, F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti's goal looked a bit too open when Rareș Petrin came free, but Vintilă Dascălu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mihăiţă Uncuţă kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Rareș Petrin scored 1-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vintilă Dascălu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 72nd minute, Rareș Petrin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costin Vădan ran back to his position shaking his head. F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti's Vintilă Dascălu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iacob Dominte in the 92nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iulian Chirtoacă in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cazimir Atanasiu saved papasoglu from getting behind. Costin Vădan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
