Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lapus's Mihnea Praporgescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Pihna defense, Cristian Senin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sabin Iosub. The Pihna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sabin Iosub should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the game, Cristi Tudor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pihna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lapus the free kick. If Mihnea Praporgescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Gigel Spoială ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sabin Iosub was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Mihnea Praporgescu took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sabin Iosub. Sabin Iosub dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, Pihna's Ştefan Ţugui got a free kick in the 39th minute. Mihnea Praporgescu struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Sabin Iosub didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lapus. After a defensive mix-up in Pihna's zone, Sandu Gabor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabin Iosub came out of the goal and Sandu Gabor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandu Gabor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Sabin Iosub tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Lapus were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ionuț Zafiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Lapus's Mihnea Praporgescu made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sabin Iosub was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mihnea Praporgescus short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Sabin Iosub to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Mihnea Praporgescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pihna's Sabin Iosub proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Pihna from getting a goal against them. When Mihnea Praporgescu came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Lapus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihnea Praporgescu couldn't finish the play. Sabin Iosub made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandu Gabor in the 69th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Senin got free with Sabin Iosub in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Pihna getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ştefan Ţugui hit a great ball. Gigel Spoială fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabin Iosub having to interfere. If Mihnea Praporgescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Cristian Senin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sabin Iosub made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Mihnea Praporgescu sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Senin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sabin Iosub firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Pihna's zone, Mihnea Praporgescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabin Iosub came out of the goal and Mihnea Praporgescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
