Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Petruț Georgescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iulian Chirtoacă's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. If Iulian Chirtoacă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the game, Calistrat Codin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Penes the free kick. After a rather tough play, F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti's Calistrat Codin got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 36 played minutes Penes got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Coșmeanu. A collision led to Penes getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Toader Nica hit a great ball. After 54 minutes, Iosif Dănănae mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penes and the F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Calistrat Codin hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Horea Maniu kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Iulian Chirtoacă reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Petruț Georgescu. The goal made the score 1-2. Silviu Capșuneanu kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Iacob Pârcălab received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Vintilă Dascălu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over F.C.Petrolul Ploiesti could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Penes throughout the match.
