But to his dismay, Fabian Mateescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 18 minutes into the game, Valer Ghionea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.S. Lazio Craiova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F C Olari the free kick. In the 23rd minute of the match Remus Vasilică sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Octavian Manole skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ioan Chibulcutean managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.S. Lazio Craiova's supporters rose to their feet, but Ioan Chibulcutean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Codrin Aluchei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Răduleț kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Octavian Manole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augustin Harhoiu was the one to do the kick off. If Valer Ghionea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ioan Chibulcutean in the 62nd minute of play forced F C Olari's goalkeeper Codrin Aluchei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augustin Harhoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Octavian Manole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. F C Olari's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
