Mugurel Ogășanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narcis Ştirbu, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, FC FCSB's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Bobeica came free, but Mugurel Ogășanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgil Arieșan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mugurel Ogășanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Ciprian Crainic kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Virgil Arieșan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugurel Ogășanu having to interfere. Biohazard Galati made a substitution. Dumitru Săvescu replaced Narcis Ştirbu. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dumitru Săvescu to make the kick off. FC FCSB's Codruț Burileanu got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. George Isărescu kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Biohazard Galati's Virgil Arieșan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mugurel Ogășanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Dumitru Săvescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgil Arieșan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 82nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Dumitru Săvescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Mugurel Ogășanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 92 played minutes FC FCSB got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Pelin. Virgil Arieșan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Biohazard Galati played a much better game than FC FCSB and deserved their victory. The FC FCSB players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
