Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rdth minute of the game Fabian Butnaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galaţi AS's Codrin Tănăsocă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. CsMotru's Francisc Mutu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Codrin Tănăsocă in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Codrin Tănăsocă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Dumitrachescu in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narcis Ispas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Codrin Tănăsocă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damian Dumitrachescu's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. The audience was convinced that Damian Dumitrachescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Codrin Tănăsocă was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Bogdan Stejaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Narcis Ispas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fabian Butnaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aurelian Cârnu's late challenge caught a CsMotru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurelian Cârnu helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Galaţi AS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CsMotru:s goal. Galaţi AS:s Codrin Tănăsocă showed great skill when he stopped Francisc Mutu:s penalty. In the 23rd minute, Francisc Mutu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Codrin Tănăsocă was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Fabian Butnaru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Codrin Tănăsocă having to make a save. Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34thth minute of the game Damian Dumitrachescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galaţi AS's Codrin Tănăsocă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Damian Dumitrachescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Codrin Tănăsocă having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Fabian Butnaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. CsMotru's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Butnaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Codrin Tănăsocă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damian Dumitrachescu made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Dumitrachescu in the 52nd minute of play forced Galaţi AS's goalkeeper Codrin Tănăsocă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Galaţi AS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Aristide Ciolofan hit a great ball. CsMotru's Fabian Butnaru got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Codrin Tănăsocă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Dumitrachescu in the 59th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Fabian Butnaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. CsMotru's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Butnaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Codrin Tănăsocă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Narcis Ispas saved CsMotru from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucrețiu Agrigoroaiei in the 65th minute of play forced CsMotru's goalkeeper Narcis Ispas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Galaţi AS's Mugur Bulzan got a free kick in the 71st minute. When Fabian Butnaru came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the CsMotru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Butnaru couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Galaţi AS getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Mugur Bulzan hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Galaţi AS's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Dumitrachescu came free, but Codrin Tănăsocă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugur Bulzan's late challenge caught a CsMotru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mugur Bulzan helped the player get up and apologised. Codrin Tănăsocă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Dumitrachescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. When Mugur Bulzan was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. In the 85th minute, Mugur Bulzan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the match, Galaţi AS's goalkeeper Codrin Tănăsocă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damian Dumitrachescu. Bogdan Stejaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CsMotru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
