Nae Miniș took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Călin Neagu. HSTBM's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to HSTBM getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Sabin Atanasiu hit a great ball. If Olimpiu Isvoreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavius Birișu's late challenge caught a HSTBM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flavius Birișu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of HSTBM booed when Szekely FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavius Birișu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Olimpiu Isvoreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szekely FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olimpiu Isvoreanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Călin Neagu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Isvoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Călin Neagu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nechifor Mititelu, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The HSTBM players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Szekely FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olimpiu Isvoreanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Mihnea Pomuț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihnea Pomuț's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorel Călin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olimpiu Isvoreanu in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Călin Neagu saved HSTBM from getting behind. Szekely FC's Olimpiu Isvoreanu got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mihnea Pomuț might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorel Călin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mihnea Pomuț ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Szekely FC's zone, Mihnea Pomuț stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorel Călin came out of the goal and Mihnea Pomuț tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihnea Pomuț received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Dorel Călin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorel Călin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nae Dudea, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. A collision led to HSTBM getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Octav Udroiu hit a great ball. With his leg Călin Neagu managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Szekely FC's Costel Trişcu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Szekely FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
