Rareș Galușcă came out of the goal and Claudiu Muncelean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paul Antohi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Ferenț in the 33rd minute of the match. Gavril Huțanu lost his temper 36 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 35th minute, one of STEAUA PLOIESTI:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for STEAUA PLOIESTI. In the 41st minute of the match Mircea Petrescu shot from a long distance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filip Lăzărescu couldn't finish the play.
