The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Juguri's Valer Lechințan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romeo Panescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 9 minutes into the game, Silviu Săndoi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Irinel Cozaru. Silviu Săndoi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Nechifor Şumălan struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Romeo Panescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juguri. The long shot by Iacob Țepelea in the 14th minute really tested Irinel Cozaru's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doru Vornicescu during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th minute, Doru Vornicescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Sârbu struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Nechifor Şumălan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 22 minutes into the game, when Mihail Ibrișin put in a rough tackle. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Viitorul Constanta! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilian Visarion in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeo Panescu saved Viitorul Constanta from getting behind. Valer Lechințan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeo Panescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Visarion in the 42nd minute of play. Nechifor Şumălan might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romeo Panescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nechifor Şumălan ran back to his position shaking his head.

In the 55th minute, David Miclescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeo Panescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilian Visarion's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When David Miclescu came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Viitorul Constanta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Miclescu couldn't finish the play. If Cristinel Bădulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeo Panescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilian Visarion in the 67th minute of the match. When Juguri's Emilian Visarion in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Viitorul Constanta's goalie prevented a goal. Adam Sârbu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Juguri's zone, Doru Vornicescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Cozaru came out of the goal and Doru Vornicescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emilian Visarion in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Romeo Panescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Aurelian Roşca kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Nechifor Şumălan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Romeo Panescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeo Panescu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 90th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Adam Sârbu. Romeo Panescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilian Visarion's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. A hard shot 93 in the game by Emilian Visarion from a close distance when the talented Romeo Panescu managed to make a qualified save. Viitorul Constanta's players were relieved. Sabin Turcan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Romeo Panescu. Viitorul Constanta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
