The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iulian Cosor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iustinian Todea, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Avram Bocu made a great header on Valea Calugareasca F.C.'s corner, it was just that Cornetu CS's Mihnea Erbașu managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 21 minutes, Eusebiu Puiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cornetu CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusebiu Puiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Eusebiu Puiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iulian Cosor. Virgil Băcila made in the 39th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cornetu CS's Cazimir Mândrilă. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebiu Puiu in the 54th minute of play forced Valea Calugareasca F.C.'s goalkeeper Iulian Cosor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iulian Cosor was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Iustinian Todea capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Iustinian Todea really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. In the 91st minute Alfredo Di Stefano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Erbașu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cornetu CS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cornetu CS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
